PRESIDENTIAL VISIT IMPACTS AIRPORT OPERATIONS/ACCESS
President Obama will fly in and out of the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport on Friday, October 29, 2010. As a result, a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) has been issued for Central Virginia and all pilots should check Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) prior to undertaking evening flights on Friday (see www.tfr.faa.gov for more information).
In addition, all airport ground operations will be frozen during the landing and take-off periods. Airport access to/from Route 29 may not be available from the hours of 6:30-9:00 p.m. Commercial flights are exempt from the TFR and will operate on Friday evening; therefore, passengers are advised to use an alternate route to and from CHO.
