The Art in the Airport Program

CHO likes to welcome visitors in style! The Art in the Airport Program helps do this by creating a traveling experience unique to Central Virginia. The terminal is a great natural gallery and the program is free and available to local and regional artists.

The purpose of the program is to showcase the diversity of arts and culture of the Central Virginia region. Museums, cultural institutions, arts organizations as well as individual artists are afforded opportunities to exhibit their collections. These exhibits are prominently displayed throughout the airport with high visibility exposure to the hundreds of thousands of passengers a year that pass through CHO.

Along with seasonal exhibits, CHO also provides a gallery area for the Charlottesville Albemarle Art Association. Their work can be seen under the lights on the upper level beyond security.

An open call for seasonal exhibitors is continuous. Each approved proposal is assigned an exhibit start date based on availability. Submit your request by emailing Jason Burch at jburch@gocho.com. In addition to your name, pictures of your art and any related description, mission or purpose of your work should be included.

CHO Welcomes the Virginia Stone Carvers Guild! Since 2001 this group of
local talented professional and amateur sculptors have used stone as a
medium to reflect the diversity of the Blue Ridge mountains - Piedmont
and Shenandoah, urban and rural. This is the second time that the stone
carvers have been to CHO and are back by popular demand! They ROCK!
