CHO HOLIDAY TRAVEL ADVISORY
The Charlottesville Albemarle Airport Authority offers the following tips for travelers using CHO for their holiday flights.
1. Refer to your airline’s website for baggage restrictions and additional costs, for both carry-on and checked luggage, before coming to the airport.
2. Monitor www.tsa.gov to familiarize yourself with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) carry-on luggage regulations to help lessen delays at security checkpoints.
3. Arrive early. The airlines at CHO recommend arriving 90 minutes early for domestic flights and at least 2 hours early for international flights.
4. New overflow lot ready. Be prepared to follow parking signage with the anticipation of the long term lot reaching its capacity.
5. To reduce terminal traffic (and save on gas) CHO offers 30 minutes of free parking in the short term parking lot for those dropping off and picking up passengers.
6. For the convenience of holiday travelers, luggage carts are provided at no cost. They are located near the center terminal doors.
7. CHO estimates the two busiest days this Thanksgiving will be Wednesday and the Sunday after.
