The noise that shook the airport and Earlysville area this evening was an F/A-18 Hornet doing a flyover of the area. It made 3 passes over the airport. Sorry we had no warning or the ability to let you know to run outside to see it!

Google tells me there was an FA-18 in Rollo, MO on Thurs. touring Naval ROTC facilities whose crew is assigned to Carrier Airwing One. Normally they would return to Oceana. but if you draw a straight line from Rollo to Pax River it passes right over Earlysville.
