How do you Embody an Institution? CHO has a new look.
It is a great challenge to represent an establishment such as the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO) with a symbol. Setting off with the purpose of creating a logo with meaning, Our team began to discuss the best ways to combine the unique elements of CHO. The logo needed to be original. What happened was quite amazing.
Flight. It is our passion. It's in our blood. Bringing our customers to and from locations all over the world is what we do every day. We represent that with a con-trail crossing the mountains and moving in the upward direction.
Connection to the community: We chose the majestic blue ridge mountains. It is a symbol of the region. Their majesty is an inspring symbol of Central Virginia's history and pride.
Environmental Conscientiousness. It is a value that began as a discussion among employees and has evolved to become a new purpose. We are commited to reducing our environmental footprint to a minimum and replaced a vapor in the con-trail with green to remind us of that promise every day.
The sky. It is a living, ever changing thing where we all look when dreaming of our destinations, the future and all possibilities. It takes us where we want to go. We use blue in the logo to celebrate the sky.
The logo only tells part of the story. Fly local next time and see for yourself the many comittment to customer initiatives currently underway!

For the first time in North American history, a biofueled commercial airliner will reach for the skies in January, 2009. Here is a link to the story:
